THIS IS A DRILL –The California Earthquake Clearinghouse is activated in response to a M9 earthquake on the Cascadia subduction zone. There are wide-spread reports of ground failure in Humboldt and Del Norte counties. Unconfirmed observations of ground failure have been reported as far south as the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento River delta. In addition, tsunami warnings have been issued for the entire coast of California. Clearinghouse volunteers are requested to check in with the Clearinghouse before heading out into the field.
